The Best USB Gaming Headset
So you're looking for a USB gaming headset eh? You're in luck... I've done the leg work and have come up with the top four, I've even listed them in order for you... all you have to do is read - nice aren't I?
#1 - SteelSeries 5H v2
I really like SteelSeries - they just 'get' gamers. The 5H v2 is a simple yet elegant headset; extremely comfortable, a microphone that retracts inside the earcups, amazingly good sound, in-line sound control, and if you're into LAN's you can take it apart for safe transport.
Comes in both standard and USB versions.
A really nice headset, the G35 comes with 7.1 Surround Sound, customizable buttons on the side, USB connection (duh), really comfortable padding (with additional headbands... for even more comfort) and a three-foot cable.
What makes the Megalodon stand out above the pack is the fact that it comes with a USB soundcard. This means that if you're thinking of buying both a headset and a soundcard, this headset could kill two birds with one stone.
The Megalodon has 7.1 Surround Sound (simulated), and it's cable boasts a whopping 10.8 foot length! The only issue is if you already have a decent sound you're best bet is to save some money and get a standalone headset.
With true 5.1 surround sound, the Zalman ZM-RS6F's are quite an impressive headset. Unfortunately though, I find that the ear cups are a little small so on those 'extended gaming sessions' you'll find yourself taking them off and rubbing your ears.
Apart from that, they really are a good headset - detachable mic, foldable and long cable - all for a reasonably cheap price.
